For the outdoor enthusiast, the Valley City area has a variety of adventures for any season. Winding its way through town, the easily accessible Sheyenne River is a North Dakota favorite for kayaking and fishing. Nearby Lake Ashtabula provides 26 miles of opportunities for camping, boating, water sports, dining as well as trails for hiking and biking. South of town, grab some hot chocolate and hit the slopes skiing, snowboarding or tubing at Thrill Hills.
